Homesense first impressions

4:09:00 PM

I literally was counting down the days until Homesense would finally be opening in the United States. I'm also lucky enough that I have TWO closeby.

I hit up the East Hanover, NJ location, as well as the Ocean, NJ location and boy, let me tell you...I was like an unsupervised kid in a candy store.

My eyes welled up with tears as I stepped through the automatic doors and I was so overwhelmed that I had to take a few laps around the store to see everything.

I was on a mission though and I needed a desk chair as well as some other bits and bobbles for my new apartment.

I snapped some photos of the store so you can get an idea of what they offer. It's not much different than Homegoods except that they offer tons of lamps and bigger furniture. Some items range from a few bucks to thousands of dollars.

Homesense also has a food section, which is my favorite thing in Homegoods, so it was nice to see an assortment of goodies from around the world. I picked up some cookies as well as some earl gray tea cocktail mix to try out.

A fuzzy millennial pink ottoman (with storage) caught my eye and I made sure that I would not go home without it. $80 well spent. I did find a perfect green velvet desk chair (purple version below) for $130. A steal considering all the boring office ones were $150+.
The thing I thought that was super cool about Homesense was they have a photo section but they have original prints dating back 20-100 years. Many include amazing fashion sketches. I wanted to pick a few up but at $40 each, I decided to just stare at them from afar.

Do you wish there was a Homesense near you? What's your favorite home accessory?
